Laid out by Thomas Cubitt in the 19th century, Pimlico shares the white stucco architecture and garden squares of its grander neighbour Belgravia, in a quieter, residential register. Cubitt stucco and lime plaster must breathe. Modern acrylic coatings can trap moisture behind historic masonry and accelerate decay.
